New Product Coming for the Ez-Vex

This coming Spring we will offer for sale a 9 micron diamond wheel as an option for the Ez-Vex.  We have been testing the 9 micron here at the Clipper Shack to make sure it will be as durable as the 30 and 15 micron diamond wheels that we currently use.

So far the Testing process for the 9 micron diamond wheel look VERY promising.  We also sent a 9 micron wheel to one of our customers in MA who is a very experienced sharpener and owns Ez-Vex Sharpener #5.

We called Frank to check on his 9 micron wheel and he said it is holding great. The wheel is showing no wear at all.

One of the Big Questions most sharpeners (experienced or novice) ask us is "how long do the diamond wheels last"   That's a great question.

While doing research and development we have wheels that are 20 months, 18 months old and still show no signs of real wear.  Our customers have had many of their machines for 8 months or longer and none of them have needed to replace their wheels.

Remember,  you always remove nicks or correct damaged shears with the 30 micron wheel.  The 15 and (soon to be ) the 9 micron are meant for sharpening only and NOT for nick removal or damage corrections.

That is the Big reason the 30 micron is the Diamond Wheel that comes with the Basic Unit.

2011 Brings Good Reviews on the Ez-Vex

We are so happy with what we have been hearing from some of our Ez-Vex customers.   Many of our customers are Newbie Sharpeners but we also have several that are Very Experienced.

We have sold Ez-Vex Sharpening systems to those who have been using Flat Hones, Some with Verticle Hones, others with Hones that use Water.  They all like the customer service and the sharpened blade edge results they are getting from using the Ez-Vex.

Below is only a few of what nice things some of our customers are saying.

Ex-Vex Comments

Mike, it has been almost three weeks since I spent a day with you showing me how to properly use the EZ-VEX sharpening system.  Since then I have been using the EZ-VEX on all  convex scissor I sharpen and have had no problems sharpening any of these scissors. As a matter of fax I believe the EZ-Vex does a better job than the system I was using.  I also believe the EZ-Vex is easier on the scissors and will make them last longer.
I have found that by slowing the machine down I can start at the tip of the blade and stop any hesitation marks when starting at the back of the blade. I have also found that using only the black polishing compound works better than using both the black and the green.
Thank you for the machine and the help. I really believe this is the way scissor will be sharpened in the future.   Jim Martin / The Scissor Medic  , NC

" I'm extremely delighted with the EZ-VEX system it reproduces the factory edge that the shear has when it is purchased new and these results are accomplished with minimal removal of material from the shear. This is really noticeable when doing color coated shears. Any sharpener that wants to perfect the factory edge should own the EZ-Vex system. With the training that Mike and Pam provide in person, along with the video and outstanding support when out in the field the EZ-Vex system is truly EZ to operate and  a must have for any sharpener".  Ed Williams / On Site Sharpening / St.John's, Newfoundland  Canada.
